George Starbuck was a reservist of the King's Royal Rifles, and had served in the Boer War. He enlisted at the outbreak of the war, and was gassed at Ypres on the 25th May, and subsequently died of heart failure at the 2nd General Hospital, Havre, on the 20th July. He resided at 47, May Street, Derby, and was married with 7 children. He was employed at J. H. Dean's, tailors, of the Market Place, Derby.
